Certificate of Religious Education - Diocese of Sale
The Certificate of Religious Education – Diocese of Sale is offered to teachers who are not accredited to teach Religious Education (RE) in a Catholic School.

Accreditation to Teach Religious Education in a Catholic School is achieved through the successful completion of eight units over a two-year cycle (four units per year).
Unit 1 – Religious Education and the Catholic School
Unit 2 – Catholic School Identity
Unit 3 – Scripture
Unit 4 – Christian Prayer
Unit 5 – Sacraments of the Church
Unit 6 – Church
Unit 7 – Triune God. Jesus Christ, Revelation and Tradition
Unit 8 – Social and Moral Perspectives in Religious Education
This course has two components:
1. Compulsory class attendance
2. Successfully completed assignments
- As the course is taught over a two-year cycle, failure to attend a unit means that you have to wait two years before the unit will be offered again.
- The course must be completed within four years of commencement unless the written permission of the Course Director is given.
- The Catholic Education Office, Diocese of Sale will invoice you personally for the cost of each unit.
